Bank Indonesia Library
This design prototype is a contemporary interpretation of the Bank Indonesia library in Surabaya, housed within a historic colonial-era building. The concept embraces the architectural heritage of the structure while introducing a warm, functional, and meaning-rich modern atmosphere.
The reading areas are carefully arranged to enhance comfort and natural lighting, with a symmetrical layout that fosters a sense of calm and reflection. Dominant wooden elements serve as a visual bridge between the richness of the past and the needs of the present. Curved forms and integrated shelving systems blend seamlessly with the original architectural character.
